His Berlin street smarts help rescue Klaus from a mugger. He tries and fails to win prizes for the boys at a game boot, and Heidi steps in to show him how it’s done. It’s November, and the harvest is in. Kirsch and Krantz invite Putzmann to join the stammtisch, the table reserved for regulars at Meincke’s. They tell Putzmann how good he’s been for Heidi and the boys, dropping hints about marriage.
